STV Investment in Creative Industries
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement by STV, in association with the Royal Television Society, to invest in the future skills base of the creative industries in Scotland through a bursary scheme for 10 talented students from diverse and lower income backgrounds who wish to pursue a career in journalism or television production and are attending a Scottish university; understands that each student will receive annual bursary funding of £1,000 for the duration of the degree alongside work placements, mentoring, networking opportunities and industry insight sessions; notes that the scheme hopes to have 50 students who have benefited from the investment within five years, and encourages eligible students to apply for this great opportunity.
