Action for Children, Official National Charity Partner for the 2019 Solheim Cup

That the Parliament congratulates Action for Children on being named the Official National Charity Partner for the 2019 Solheim Cup, which is the biennial golf tournament for professional women golfers contested by teams representing Europe and the United States that, this year, takes place at Gleneagles from 9 to 15 September; understands that Action for Children supports around 20,000 of Scotland’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children, young people and families via its 87 services, including its Edinburgh EH1 service, which provides intensive support to vulnerable young people to assist them to make positive changes in their lives; notes that becoming the Solheim Cup Charity Partner offers Action for Children the opportunity to promote its excellent work to a global audience, as well as raise funds to benefit people locally and nationally; further notes that, through the partnership, the charity aims to assist the children and young people that it works with to participate in sports and activities; offers its best wishes and support to Action for Children for its fundraising and awareness endeavours, and further wishes Scotland’s and Edinburgh’s very own Catriona Matthew, who is the European Captain, good luck in reclaiming the Solheim Cup for Europe.
