Broughton Farmers Dance Raises £16,000
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the 54th annual Broughton Farmers Dance on raising £16,000 for local cancer charities; understands that the dance raised money for The Haven, a care centre in Forth for people with life-limiting illnesses, Lavender Touch, in Tweedbank, and the McMillan centre at the Borders General Hospital; notes that the Broughton Farmers Dance has now raised over £250,000 for charity since it began in 1965, and thanks the committee for its hard work in raising this money.
