Run Garioch 2019
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the annual Run Garioch event, which, in its 14th year, took place in Inverurie on 24 March 2019; notes that the event included races over distances of 5,000 metres, 10,000 metres and half marathon, with more than 1,800 people taking part; recognises that there were also three categories of children’s races, which saw over 800 children take part; acknowledges that thousands of spectators lined the routes to cheer on the participants; recognises the role of local business, charities, community groups and volunteers in the running, promotion and funding of the event; commends the organisers for their hard work, and wishes them and Run Garioch well.
