Lewis and Harris Local Industry and Jobs Fair
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the Lewis and Harris Local Industry and Jobs Fair, which is taking place in Stornoway on 26 March 2019 and is being hosted by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) in partnership with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Developing the Young Workforce Outer Hebrides; understands that it is in response to feedback from employers looking for support in encouraging young people to consider local work-based learning and apprenticeship opportunities; believes that connecting young people in the Western Isles to employment opportunities in their area can help counter depopulation; commends SDS and its partners on making the jobs fair happen, and wishes all involved every success with the event.
