Woodside Pantry Expansion
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Woodside Pantry, which is set to expand after a successful first six weeks; recognises that this innovative Aberdeen food project, based at the Fersands and Fountain Community Centre, is the first of its kind in Scotland; welcomes the news that the pantry offers people a cut-price way to shop for food as an alternative to visiting a foodbank; acknowledges that fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and general household items are donated to the project through CFine and Fareshare; understands that the 72 members pay a £3 annual fee, as well as £2.50 for each visit to the pantry, where they can obtain up to 10 items, and wishes the project every success in finding new volunteers to support its expansion.
