Jennie's Gift of Life
The motion
That the Parliament expresses its admiration at the selfless act of Jennie Differ, from Kirkintilloch, who recently donated a kidney to a stranger; commends Jennie on this lifesaving act; notes that the person who received the kidney is a 25-year-old father of a young son; believes that he had been on dialysis for a year-and-a-half due to kidney disease; understands that he and Jennie met up a few weeks after the operation and that both of them are doing really well; believes that kidney donation from a living donor usually offers the best outcome for patients and that, since 2009, 78 people in Scotland have altruistically done so; commends Jennie on giving the gift of life, and wishes both her and the gentleman a speedy recovery.
