The motion

That the Parliament congratulates a Greenock cook school on receiving a grant of £99,000 to continue helping some of Inverclyde’s most vulnerable people into work; understands that Stepwell, an employability charity in Inverclyde that runs cafes locally, has received the funding from the Scottish Government and The Hunter Foundation’s innovation fund to help expand its range of services, creating five new jobs; appreciates that the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government visited the social enterprise to see its work in action and was treated to a two-course lunch by some of the current cook school trainees; believes that Stepwell being only one of six organisations in Scotland to benefit from The Hunter Foundation’s innovation fund emphasises how important its work is in retraining and upskilling people to help them find secure, long-term employment; thanks everyone involved at the social enterprise for their dedication to the local community, and wishes them and all the cook school trainees every success.
