Elaine Wylie MBE
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Elaine Wyllie on being appointed an MBE for her services to the fitness of children across Fife and wider Scotland; notes that she was recognised for her initiative, the Daily Mile, which sees children walk or run for 15 minutes each day while at school; understands that the initiative has been adopted by 6,000 schools in 55 countries; recognises the difference that daily exercise can make to pupils’ readiness to learn and their physical wellbeing and mental health, and wishes Elaine and the Daily Mile Foundation all the best for the future.
