St Boswells Village Spring Clean
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the hard work of volunteers in St Boswells for taking part in the annual village spring clean on 24 March 2019, which saw locals get involved in cleaning up the local river bank and public areas; understands that some of the items found included discarded shopping trolleys, tyres and bicycles; notes that, according to Zero Waste Scotland, there are 15,000 tonnes of litter in Scotland, or approximately 250 million items, which costs £46 million for local authorities to clean up, and thanks the organisers and volunteers for their hard work in improving their community.
