Lynn McClean from Angus, at the Cutting Edge of Textile Conservation
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Lynn McClean, who is from Angus, on her contribution to textile conservation at the Museum of Scotland, at which she is the principal conservator for paper and textiles; understands that Lynn initially trained at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee before completing a three-year post graduate degree at the Textile Conservation Centre and carrying out further studies at the National Trust’s Textile Conservation Studio; notes that, in her current role, she has worked on many large projects, including the opening of the Exploring East Asia gallery, which presented her with a rare opportunity to work on the 19th century suit of Japanese samurai armour that had never previously been on display; recognises Lynn's dedication to preserving the past for future generations, and wishes her continued success.
