KPMG to Expand its Operations in Glasgow
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that the international auditing company, KPMG, plans to locate its second UK managed services hub at St Vincent Street in Glasgow, where its tax centre of excellence is already based; understands that 50 staff have initially been recruited, with a further 150 people to be taken on from June 2019 and an additional 200 jobs to be created over the next three years; believes that their roles will include a mixture of data gatherers, analysts and management staff; welcomes the news that apprentices and graduates, as well as established professionals, will be hired as part of the firm’s recruitment strategy, and considers that KPMG’s decision to grow its Glasgow-based operations will provide a further boost to the city’s financial services sector.
