Mums into Business
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Wester Hailes-based group, Mums into Business, on receiving a £5,000 grant from UnLtd; understands that the group is part of the Tasting Change project at the WHALE Arts Agency and seeks to help mothers from the local area who have an interest in setting up their own business, which helps to tackle unemployment and enables mothers to fulfil their dream careers; recognises that the group has previously utilised the support of Business Gateway and other business support organisations, and that the Business Gateway employee, Yvonne Bostock, continues to support the group in a voluntary capacity through The Roberts Partnership; further recognises the support that has been given by Lorna Robertson from DWP; notes that the award was made to the social entrepreneur, Sindy Santos, who will use the funding to continue the group after the Tasting Change project comes to an end; thanks Kirsty Frankland, who has played a significant role within the group and will continue to do so, and wishes the group and the mums who are pursuing their own businesses all the very best for the future.
