Children's Book Series Inspired by Monikie Club
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Michelle Sloan on the publication of her new children’s book series, Animal Adventure Club; understands that the series was inspired by the Young Naturalists Club at Crombie Country Park in Monikie, which gives children the chance to explore the outdoors; further understands that the Dundee author’s publication is about four children who work as volunteers at their local nature reserve in the fictional town of Pittendooey in Scotland; notes that the club members have to work together as a team to use their skills to achieve the challenges that each character faces; recognises the importance of teaching children about teamwork, the environment and friendship, and wishes Michelle success with her future books.
