Milngavie and Bearsden's Big Golden Slimming World Clothes Throw
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Milngavie and Bearsden's Slimming World groups on collecting 83 bags of clothes, which they have successfully slimmed out of and have donated to the Milngavie Cancer Research shop as part of the Big Golden Slimming World Clothes Throw, which aims to raise awareness of how keeping a healthy weight can reduce the risk of developing some types of cancer; understands that each bag is worth approximately £25 to Cancer Research UK, meaning that the Milngavie and Bearsden groups have raised more than £2,000 for this worthy cause, and notes that, since Slimming World groups throughout the country and Cancer Research UK began to collaborate in 2012, this partnership has generated more than £12 million worth of clothing, an achievement that was recognised earlier by an award being presented to Slimming World by the charity.
