Dorothy Tervit Receives Royal Maundy Money
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Dorothy Tervit, who is from Port Seton, on receiving The Queen’s Royal Maundy Money at the Royal Maundy service, which was held in St George’s Chapel, Windsor; understands that the royal service, which dates back to the 13th century and was originally a means of giving alms to the poor, involves the gifting of commemorative coins to individuals who have been anonymously proposed by Christian clergy for their service to the local church and community; thanks Dorothy for her work with the local community choir, history society and Chalmers Memorial Church, and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
