Friends of Turriff Cemetery Wins My Place Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the community group, Friends of Turriff Cemetery, on winning a My Place award, the Green Space Small Project from the Scottish Civic Trust for its work to develop its millennium garden and incorporate this into an adjoining memorial garden; recognises that the spaces created include a sensory garden, an area of remembrance for early lost pregnancies and a poppy garden with a statue to commemorate fallen soldiers; notes that these spaces are fully accessible to all; acknowledges that the My Place Awards aim to recognise the positive difference that good new design and careful restoration can make to communities in Scotland; applauds the committee and volunteers at the friends group on their work, and wishes them and the group well.
