Archibald Leitch Link to Pittodrie Discovered

That the Parliament recognises the recent discovery that the radical reconstruction of Pittodrie Stadium in Aberdeen in the 1920s was the work of Scottish architect, Archibald Leitch; understands that the discovery was made by Aberdeen supporter, Sue Shepherd, whose painstaking research succeeded despite the fact that Aberdeen FC’s own records had been destroyed in a fire in 1971; recognises that Archibald Leitch was also responsible for the design of many other great stadiums between 1899 and 1939, including Hampden Park, Old Trafford, Anfield, Cardiff Arms Park and Lansdowne Road; acknowledges the important contribution that Glasgow-born Leitch made to football architecture across the country, and commends Sue Shepherd, as well as the AFC Heritage Trust, Aberdeen City Archives and others who helped her to establish the origins of the design of Pittodrie Stadium.
