A Special Thank You to Childline's Oldest Volunteer, Norman Hutchison
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates 100-year-old Norman Hutchison, who is from Dyce and is Childline’s oldest volunteer; recognises Norman's contribution to the charity since 2004; notes that the helpline's founder, Dame Esther Rantzen, visited its Aberdeen base to thank him personally; understands that Norman provides administrative support to the Aberdeen staff and volunteers; notes that, in 2019 alone, 13,841 counselling sessions were carried out by the team in Aberdeen, and applauds both Norman's and Childline’s efforts to help and support young people throughout the north east.
