Caithness and Orkney Win Girls Under 15 Rugby Title
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the combined Caithness and Orkney rugby team on winning the Girl's Club Under-15 Shield at Murrayfield on 5 May 2019; understands that Caithness RFC overcame Lismore RFC 63-26 in an entertaining and high quality match; notes that the team included five players from Orkney, Paige Scott, Tallis Scott, Shannon Pasotti, Catherine Green and Zoe Deerness; acknowledges the growing popularity of rugby among girls and women across the Highlands and Islands; believes the success of the combined team in this year's competition will help efforts to develop the sport and encourage more girls to take up rugby; thanks all involved in the competition, and wishes the teams competing next season the very best of luck.
