Three Peak Challenge Completed in Memory of Connor McDade
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates everyone who helped raise £1,146 for the national road safety charity, Brake, in memory of Connor McDade from Coatbridge, by completing the Three Peak Challenge, which involves reaching the summit of Ben Nevis as well as the highest mountains in Wales and England, Mount Snowdon and Scafell Pike; notes that Connor tragically lost his life aged 21 after being hit by a car in Newcastle; acknowledges that Brake is dedicated to preventing road death and injury and supports people who are left bereaved or injured following accidents; commends Connor’s close family and friends who embarked on their journey from Coatbridge on 1 May 2019 and completed it two days later; notes that, to date, they have raised almost £5,000 for three great causes, Brake, Organ Donations and The Prince’s Trust, and praises them for their admirable contribution to charity.
