Orkney Hockey Club Wins Women’s Scottish District Cup

That the Parliament congratulates Orkney Hockey Club on winning the 2019 Women’s Scottish District Cup after an emphatic 10-1 victory over Ellon at the National Hockey Centre in Glasgow on 5 May; understands that this is Orkney’s third successive win in the event and fifth overall since 2010, making it the most successful club in the competition’s recent history; recognises the contribution that is made by every member of the squad, which has an excellent mix of youth and experience; acknowledges in particular the role that its coaches, Ali and Graham Johnson, have played in developing the team members, helping deliver success on the back of an excellent team spirit, and wishes the club's players, coaches and support staff all the best as they prepare for the forthcoming tie against Shetland in the Lady Hamilton Cup.
