Creetown Initiative Secures Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Creetown Initiative in Dumfries and Galloway on securing a total of £2.6 million in funds to complete the redevelopment of Johnston School in Kirkcudbright; notes that the funds, which are from a number of different groups and agencies, including the Scottish Government and the Hollywood Trust, will be used to create a state-of-the-art visitor centre and planetarium for the Dark Skies Park; further notes that this will also facilitate a youth work venue for the Kirkcudbright Youth Project, as well as a casual meeting space that will be available for a number of local and national groups to use; thanks everyone who has been involved in securing these funds, and wishes the Creetown Initiative well with this work ahead of its official opening in 2020.
