Port Glasgow Juniors FC Wins Major Tournament in the Netherlands
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Port Glasgow Juniors FC on beating German, Danish and Dutch opposition to be crowned winners of the Holland 19 International Cup; notes that the two-day competition, held on 20-21 April 2019, attracted over 600 teams from across Europe and the United States; recognises that the under-16s squad played six games in total, three each day, to secure the title; believes that this is a fantastic achievement for the youth side; commends everyone involved for dedicating the trophy to their late president, Pat Duffy, who recently passed away; appreciates the dedication and support of the players’ families and coaches, and wishes the squad all the best for the future.
