Hair Salon for Long-stay Patients Opens at University Hospital Wishaw
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the opening of a free hairdressing salon at University Hospital Wishaw; notes that the salon, which has been named Styles and Smiles, is being staffed by students from New College Lanarkshire and will offer free hairdressing and barbering services to long-stay patients; recognises the potential benefits to patient mental health and wellbeing that these appointments will bring; commends University Hospital Wishaw, Serco, Summit Healthcare and New College Lanarkshire for setting up this initiative, and wishes everyone involved well for the future.
