Neve Smith Donates Glasses to Nurse’s Malawi Appeal
The motion
That the Parliament commends eight-year-old Neve Smith, who is short-sighted, for collecting around 100 pairs of glasses in response to an appeal by the district nurse, Cath Kerr, who supports an eye clinic in a remote village in Malawi; understands that Neve, who is from Inverkip, handed old pairs of her own over to Cath and also asked family and friends for donations after being inspired by the nurse; recognises that Neve’s selfless and kind actions will mean that young people in Malawi will be able to see more clearly at school, which will improve their life chances, and applauds Neve for being so thoughtful.
