Orkney Nature Festival

That the Parliament welcomes Orkney Nature Festival 2019, which runs from 13 to 19 May; understands that the week-long festival has run annually since 2013, and works to recognise and highlight Orkney’s unique and internationally relevant natural habitat; recognises that these objectives are supported by a programme of events, including nature walks, cruises, classes and workshops; notes that this project is organised by the local RSPB Scotland team, but reflects a collaborative effort involving local businesses, community groups and individual volunteers; believes that the promotion and recognition of the importance of local habitats is key to furthering their protection; thanks all those involved in the festival, and wishes them the best of luck for this year and beyond.
