WEST to Become First Employee-owned Brewery in the UK
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that WEST, a brewery based at the Templeton Building on Glasgow Green, will become the first employee-owned brewery in the UK; understands that the new share incentive plan (SIP) has placed 10% of the company’s shares into a dedicated trust for employees who, after working for the company for 12 consecutive months, regardless of how many hours they work, will receive over £3,600 worth of shares every year; commends the work of the brewery in leading the way in employee ownership, and wishes all staff and the business every success in this co-operative endeavour.
