Fife Headway in Lochgelly
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the work over the last 30 years of the charity, Fife Headway, which helps people cope with the effects of brain injury; notes that it is a branch of Headway, which is marking its 40th anniversary; acknowledges that it has recently opened an office at the Ore Valley Business Centre in Lochgelly and is currently recruiting volunteers to assist in its day-to-day business; understands that 1,647 people in the NHS Fife area were admitted to hospital in 2016-17 with a diagnosis related to acquired brain injury, most as a result of a stroke, brain tumour or trauma; notes that members of the charity will be wearing hats for Hats Off for Headway Day, which takes place on 24 May 2019 and will encourage people to wear outlandish headgear and donate £2 to help improve the lives of people who have experienced a brain injury, and commends the charity on its excellent work.
