Glasgow Teenager in the Semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent

The motion

That the Parliament wishes Kerr James, a budding young singer from Glasgow, the best of luck for his appearance in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) on 30 May 2019; understands that the 13-year-old has made it through to the live semi-final at London's Hammersmith Apollo along with 40 other performers; notes that Kerr impressed all four judges with his rendition of the song, Try a Little Tenderness; acknowledges that Kerr started his entertainment career early and was just seven when he got the part of Oliver in an Apollo Players production at the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow; understands that he performed in more musicals before learning the piano and realising that he wanted to be a musician; notes that Kerr has already played charity shows in some of Glasgow’s most iconic music venues, such as the Barrowland Ballroom and King Tut’s, and that he can be seen busking on Buchanan Street, and further notes that Kerr is hoping to win the public vote at BGT and secure an all-important place in the live final, with the chance of winning a life-changing £250,000 and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance.
