Kokusai Karate Club, Clydebank
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kokusai Karate Club on its competition squad’s recent success at the Scottish International Open Karate competition at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow; understands that the Clydebank club joined 38 national associations representing nine countries in the competition; commends club members Adam Richards, who won a gold medal in the boys Kata age 10-11 group, Aria Pascual who achieved gold in both the female under-21 Kata and the female senior competition, and Heather McLaren who was gold medallist in the senior female kumite +68kg category; notes that Aria has been selected to represent Scotland, for the fourth time, at the Under-21 World Championships in Santiago, Chile in October 2019, and wishes her and the Kokusai Karate Club further success in the future.
