Congratulations to Colin Thackery
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Chelsea Pensioner, Colin Thackery, on reaching the final stage of nationwide talent contest, Britain’s Got Talent; commends the 89-year-old who served in the 45th regiment of the Royal Artillery in the Army for 25 years and is a veteran of the Korean War, for winning the public vote for his heartfelt performance in the semi-final; applauds Colin and his fellow Chelsea Pensioners for their service to the nation; considers them to be outstanding representatives for the UK’s veteran community, in the best traditions of the army; further congratulates Colin on his success so far, and wishes him all the very best in the final, where he will be competing to win a cash prize and an opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the Royal Family.
