Orkney Running Club Success at GB24 Ultra Marathon Competition

That the Parliament congratulates Billy Groundwater, Ailsa Curnow, Sarah Scarth and Erica Clarkson on winning the mixed doubles and ladies doubles events respectively at 2019’s GB24 ultra marathon competition; notes that all four competitors are members of Orkney Running Club and that Erica is an ambassador for the GB Ultras; acknowledges that the GB24 is considered one of the toughest 24-hour races, with each lap consisting of 5.8 miles with an ascent of 380m; commends all of the athletes for their incredible endurance and the months of hard training to prepare for such a gruelling challenge; recognises that this achievement shows the strength of the Orkney Running Club, and wishes all involved with the club continued success in the future.
