10 Years of Football Memories Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Football Memories Scotland on the 10th anniversary of its formation; understands that the project was founded by Michael White and has been managed by the Scottish Football Museum, working in partnership with Alzheimer's Scotland, since 2009; notes the role of Alzheimer’s Scotland in providing core funding to the project, which is further complemented by the vast investment through the Football Museum Scotland; acknowledges the important work that it undertakes with people who have a diagnosis of memory conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia; notes the valuable use of football as a stimulus to reignite memories that people feel they have lost due to their condition; acknowledges the development of a new initiative to increase the number of similar reminiscence groups within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde; wishes the project all the best following its first successful decade, and looks forward to its future endeavours in partnership with the NHS.
