The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the International Fire and Rescue Association (IFRA), which is Scotland’s biggest international fire service charity, on being awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service; notes that this is the highest award that a voluntary group can receive in the UK; recognises that IFRA is a group of volunteers from around the UK and is based in Dunfermline; notes that it assists fire and emergency services around the world that require help due to war, civil unrest or that are unable to deal fully with emergencies; commends it on donating 96 vehicles, 55 containers of lifesaving equipment and 67 training missions to 20 countries; notes that this award identifies outstanding work by volunteer groups that is beneficial to communities; understands that IFRA is the only international fire service charity to have received this award, and wishes it, and its volunteers and supporters, the best of luck.
