ScotRail Alliance Receives Carer Positive Award
The motion
That the Parliament recognises and congratulates the ScotRail Alliance (SA), which is a partnership between Network Rail and ScotRail, on achieving Carer Positive engaged status in May 2019; believes that, with 7,000 staff, a significant proportion of these will be unpaid carers; acknowledges that combining employment with unpaid care can be challenging; understands that SA's commitment to supporting unpaid carers and understanding the needs of carers in the workforce is reflected in its policies and the practical and peer support that it makes available for its staff, and hopes that the SA is able to grow as a considerate, flexible and caring employer that supports unpaid carers.
