Congratulating Jess Thorpe, Lecturer in Arts in Justice at the Royal Conservatoire

That the Parliament congratulates Jess Thorpe, Lecturer in the Arts in Justice at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, on being recognised by the Universities UK’s MadeAtUni campaign, which highlights the impact of universities on everyday lives; recognises that Jess is one of 100 individuals or groups that were nominated by their institution and whose work can be credited with making a significant contribution to the nation’s health and wellbeing; commends Jess for her lead in national advocacy of arts in justice; recognises that she is responsible for the design and delivery of creative projects across 10 Scottish prisons, which also consists of the release of various publications, including Working in Scottish Prisons, An Artist’s Guide for Creative Scotland, and extends its very best wishes to Jess for the future and success of her own theatre company, Glas(s) Performance, in partnership with the children’s charity, Barnardo’s, and its launch of the first youth theatre in an offenders institution in Scotland.
