Susan Hannah and the Fife Alcohol Support Service
The motion
That the Parliament commends Susan Hannah, who is from Kirkcaldy, on her 18 years of voluntary service with Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS); understands that Susan spent much of this time as a volunteer counsellor, helping people with difficulties due to alcohol related problems; notes that FASS provides a range of services designed to meet the special needs of vulnerable people in the community who are affected by alcohol-related problems and substance misuse, provides help for carers of individuals in difficulty and for people who are socially isolated and vulnerable; understands that, across Fife in 2016, around seven million hours were volunteered to charities, including FASS; recognises the difference that such voluntary services and charities make to the lives of those who find themselves in need of help and support; thanks them for the work; applauds Susan for her years of service, and wishes her a happy retirement.
