Andy Robertson, Champions League Winner and Role Model
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Andy Robertson, a former pupil of St Ninian's High School in Giffnock, on winning the Champions League with Liverpool FC on 1 June 2019; further congratulates him on a successful season that saw Liverpool finish runners-up in the English Premier League and the left-back being named in the PFA Team of the Year, and considers that his rise through the leagues of Scottish and English football to becoming captain of the men's Scottish national team shows that Andy is a positive role model for young people in Scotland to emulate in all sports.
