Wallace Primary Competing for New Eco Playground

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Wallace Primary School in Elderslie has been entered into a nationwide competition to win a new eco playground; recognises the wellbeing benefits of a new outdoor space to pupils and commends the Wallace Parent Council both for putting the school forward for the competition and for raising £15,000 over the course of the last year to support school projects; notes that the new playground would be delivered by Colgate and TerraCycle and would be constructed from recycled oral care products as part of Colgate’s Oral Care Recycling Programme; believes that this circular economic approach would allow the school to build on its strong environmental record, which saw it recently renew its Eco School Scotland Green Flag status, and wishes the pupils and staff every success in the competition ahead.
