Congratulating Ruth Carruthers
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ruth Carruthers on receiving her Lifetime Achievement Award at the Scottish Education Awards; notes her 28 years of teaching drama in the Castlemilk area of Glasgow Cathcart, and for the leadership that she has displayed in her leading the learning and teaching committee in the school, which resulted in a very good HMI report; acknowledges her role as a carer for her disabled son and managing her own health issues; appreciates her return to manage a school production of The Sound of Music, which is a continuation of her work with the school and wider community by producing shows for the community’s benefit such as Grease, Back to the 80's, Oklahoma, Blood Brothers, The Wiz, Oliver and Disco Inferno, and shares the community’s thanks for her dedication and commitment.
