The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the unveiling of a plaque to commemorate the work of the Moray poet, Mary Symon, in Dufftown; recognises Mary’s body of work, particularly her poems on the impact of the First World War, both locally and across the world; understands that the memorial was supported by the Historic Environment Scotland commemorative plaque scheme, which approved plaques in 2018 marking the lives of a number of war poets with connections to Scotland, and congratulates the schools and other civic organisations involved in the unveiling ceremony.
