West Dunbartonshire Council's Support to Drive Scheme
The motion
That the Parliament commends West Dunbartonshire Council on its scheme, Support to Drive, which provides funding for driving lessons and a practical test for 17- to 24-year-olds; understands that the initiative, which was launched in 2014, is primarily focused on helping apprentices and young people who have previously required support from the care system; believes that learning to drive gives a sense of confidence and significantly improves employment prospects for young people, and wishes everyone taking part in the scheme well in their efforts to pass their driving tests.
