The motion

That the Parliament notes that 17 to 23 June is Children’s Hospice Week 2019; understands that a recent YouGov survey suggested that, across the UK, 20% of the public did not know what children’s hospices are; notes that the awareness week, which uses the tag, #MomentsThatMatter, aims to raise awareness of what the hospices mean to seriously ill children and their families, to celebrate the lifeline care that they provide and to show how they support families in making precious memories; believes that around 16,000 children and young people in Scotland live with life-shortening conditions; acknowledges the work of CHAS, which is the only national provider of hospice care for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions; notes that the charity offers palliative, respite and end-of-life care at its hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, and across Scotland, including through its service, CHAS at Home, and commends all of its staff and volunteers on helping to create the moments that matter for the children and the families that they support.
