Ferguson Marine Wins Prestigious Green Innovation Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Port Glasgow shipyard, Ferguson Marine Engineering, on winning the Innovation of the Year category at the 2019 Greentech Festival’s Green Awards in Berlin, which it understands is world’s largest sustainability awards' event, for its work on the HySeas III project; believes that the shipyard's leading work on hydrogen propulsion gave its nomination a significant edge over highly-respected international competition; commends it for playing a leading role in what it sees as the pioneering HySeas III consortium, which aims to deliver the world’s first sea-going vehicle and passenger ferry to be fuelled entirely by hydrogen, and believes this award is testament to the incredibly talented workforce at Ferguson Marine as the business continues to innovate and challenge the status quo of the marine transport industry.
