Award for West College Scotland's Skills Academy
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West College Scotland on winning the Outstanding Business Engagement in Colleges award for its part in setting up Skills Academy, which is a pioneering training facility that it established in conjunction with construction company, AC Whyte; understands that it gives apprentices a blend of classroom-based work as well as onsite experience at the firm, and notes that the successful students gain SQA-approved qualifications and a guaranteed job with the company at the end of their course.
