Golden Jubilee of Fr Patrick Hennessy
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges the Jubilee of Fr Patrick Hennessy of St Columbkilles Parish Church in Rutherglen; notes the longstanding service that he has provided in Rutherglen as well as in Hamilton and East Kilbride; acknowledges the decade that Fr Hennessy spent in a remote area of Peru from 1988 during a period of severe drought, helping local people with accessing food and education; congratulates him on 50 years of service to the local community and those abroad, and wishes him well for his coming years in the priesthood.
