River Clyde Homes Scoops Energy Efficiency Prize at UK Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates River Clyde Homes (RCH) on winning the National Insulation and Fabric Project of the Year at the UK National Energy Efficiency Awards for a project that saw hard to heat homes and solid wall properties receiving upgraded insulation; recognises that the project is part of RCH’s commitment to ensure that all existing housing stock meets the energy efficiency standard for social housing ahead of the 2020 Scottish Government targets; notes that the housing association’s project aims to also reduce heating costs, potential dampness issues, improve the health and wellbeing and raise living standards for its customers in Inverclyde; believes that this is an example of RCH’s commitment to offering quality homes at affordable rents, while helping to tackle fuel poverty, and understands that Union Technical Services nominated RCH for this award, which it considers, is testament to the commitment of RCH’s staff who are working to improve the lives of their tenants.
