Ross Sinclair Wins at the Scottish Junior Weightlifting Championships
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Orkney’s Ross Sinclair on winning the U17 73kg category at the Scottish Junior Weightlifting Championships in Glasgow; understands that Ross is a member of the Orkney Amateur Weightlifting Club; notes that he shattered his personal best in setting a total of 205kg to claim first place; acknowledges that this was Ross’s first competition of the year, and that he is now training for the British Junior Championships in October 2019, where he will be the first Orcadian weightlifter to compete at British level; recognises the incredible amount of training, commitment and dedication that has gone into reaching this level; commends the coaches and others at the club who have supported Ross over the years, and wishes him every success at the British finals and in his future career.
