The motion

That the Parliament congratulates students from Currie Community High School on successfully completing a FireSkills course at Sighthill Fire Station; recognises that the course was designed and run by highly experienced fire service professionals to help give life skills to high school students who will be entering the world of work soon; understands that the pupils learned how to retrieve fire hoses from the fire engines, prepare the hoses for use in a fire, operate ladders, climb ladders safely in a harness, use breathing equipment in small spaces with poor visibility and administer CPR; notes that the course culminated with the students carrying out a demonstration of the skills that they had learned and afterwards receiving their certificates at a ceremony in front of family, friends and school staff; thanks the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service city of Edinburgh senior management team and staff for supporting the course and attending the demonstration and certificate presentation, and wishes the students, Steven Paterson, Wajeeha Butt, Frankie Innes, Cameron Mason, Jake Collett, Sean McCombie, Karis Brady, James Larter, Dylan Innes and Mia Smith, success in their future careers.
